Field Manager

Job Summary

The Field Manager’s core responsibility is to visit construction sites on a daily basis to ensure that each site is managed and completed successfully according to company and client standards. The Field Manager will be the direct supervisor to all Construction Managers, and will also oversee subcontractor activity.  The Field Manager must have a strong understanding of civil construction in the telecommunications field, specifically relating to the construction of telecommunications towers, shelters – both pre-fabricated and stick built, generators and fuel tanks.  The Field Manager must be comfortable with travel throughout all of Los Angeles County, and must be willing to stay overnight at hotels multiple days a week, depending on site locations and visit schedules.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Supervision of Construction
    • Oversee Construction Managers and sub-contractors during construction activities;
    • Ensure that sites are built according to construction drawings, client standards and applicable codes;
    • Act as main point of contact and assessing any issues that occur, escalating to the Project Manager or Director as needed;
    • Assess risk and change direction as necessary to avoid potential losses and delays which could negatively impact client projects.
  • Quality Control
    • Prepare, oversee and QA/QC site close out documentation in a timely fashion, in an accurate manner and consistent with company standards and/or client’s standards;
    • Continuously seek to keep current with OSHA safety training and regulation changes, construction code regulations, and local, state, and government regulations.
  • Schedule Assistance
    • Coordinate with Master Scheduler for proper SmartSheet online software schedule updates, statusing and management of site schedules the Construction Managers are working.
  • Client Satisfaction
    • The Field Manager represents Pyramid Network Services, LLC to our client and their representatives, and should seek to develop and create a high degree of client trust and satisfaction for Pyramid Network Services, LLC.
    • Communicate directly and as appropriate with client and end client in meetings, conference calls and emails as necessary.
    • Exhibit the highest degree of professionalism, ethics and integrity with all parties involved throughout the project. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in construction/management; or four to six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Department of Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
  • Certification in 30-hour OSHA construction course.
  • Ability with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Authority and Supervisory Qualifications:

The Field Manager reports to the Director of Construction and Project Manager.  The Field Manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities as established by the Director of Construction and Project Manager.   The Field Manager will be responsible for the overall management of Construction Managers and subcontractors at telecommunications construction sites.

Physical Demands:

  • Travel required. 75-100%
  • Ability to effectively speak, communicate and present information to customers, clients, tenants, employees of the organization and management.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites and heavy equipment well.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
