Accountant

Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for certain accounting and operational functions for Pyramid Network Services LLC, with a primary focus on client invoicing, and including all ancillary tasks. Additionally, the Accountant will manage and maintain weekly and monthly journal entries, balance verifications and oversee the accounts payable and receivable duties.

Essential Functions of the Job

Accounts Receivable Function and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and ensure weekly/ monthly billings to clients as directed by project manager.
  • Prepare associated project-based bonuses (if required) with each client billing.
  • Ensure all required client purchase orders/ change orders are obtained for new work.
  • Coordinate the request and receipt of all new purchase orders and/or change orders.
  • Post and track agents/employee’s compensation by invoice (project-based bonuses).
  • Obtain necessary information to respond to agents’ inquiries, regarding client billings.
  • Create and manage project trackers to effectively manage the accounting and financial impact of each project.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports and follow up accordingly on past due invoices.
  • Retrieve corresponding invoices and payables weekly based on payments from clients.
  • Create and maintain weekly Journal Entries and monthly Journal Entries.

Accounts Payable Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all payables from vendors and employees as needed.
  • Process special “Check Requests” received from employees as needed.

Other

  • Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues, records and company information.
  • Must adhere to all company policies and procedures as well as the Widewaters Employee Handbook.
  • Assist others as needed and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience preferred. Associates degree with 7-10 years of experience required.
  • Ability effectively communicate via written and verbal communication skills in a high paced environment where multitasking is needed.
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel and must type at least 40-45 wpm.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of standard accounting procedures and functions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid New York State Driver's License

Authority and Supervisory Qualifications:

The Accountant reports to the Controller.  The Accountant will carry out supervisory responsibilities as established by the Controller.   The Accountant will be responsible for certain accounting and operational functions for Pyramid Network Services LLC.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
