Environmental Health, Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

Job overview

The Environmental Health, Safety & Quality Assurance Manager shall assist in the planning and implementation of organizational environmental health, safety and quality assurance programs to ensure healthy, safe, and accident free work environment for Pyramid Network Services. The Environmental Health, Safety & Quality Assurance Manager shall assist and collaborate with all Pyramid Network Services departments in the coordination and execution of their duties.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in planning and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, quality processes, fire prevention, Hazmat, first aid & CPR and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment and other materials (environmental health issues).
  • Assist in preparing studies and analyses of work site accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspect and evaluate Pyramid facilities, projects and job sites to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Inspect and evaluate Pyramid Network Services projects and job sites to detect existing or potential quality deficiencies in site management, administrative documentation, workmanship and materials.
  • Provide information, signs, posters, barriers and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of materials and evidence for organizations use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
  • Assist in compiling and submitting accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety programs and maintain relationships with appropriate state, local and federal agencies.
  • Assist in maintaining personnel safety certification files/records for all employees requiring certification.
  • Assist in the continuous development and improvement of environmental health, safety and quality procedures, training, systems and documents.
  • Assist with developing Safety newsletter to enhance communication of safety training for distribution to all companies on a periodic basis.
  • Assist in completing and maintaining clients third party supply chain risk management requirements, typically through web-portal updates, uploads etc.

PNS Project and Developmental Responsibilities
  • Assist in establishing and implementing fire emergency evacuation procedures for Pyramid
    Network Services office buildings, properties and worksites including periodic drills as required.
  • Assist in the developing Pyramid Network Services safety standards of conduct for all facility and maintenance personnel
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Superintendents to implement Pyramid Network Services project safety manuals, site safety procedures and signage.
  • Inspect work in progress at construction sites periodically, to ensure that PNS work practices and contracted subcontractors work practices conform to PNS established environmental health, safety and quality standards.
  • Schedule, coordinate and or conduct Safety education training programs including OSHA 10 and 30 hour courses, hazmat, forklift training, first aid & CPR and various other OSHA required certification programs as required.
  • Conduct regular “Toolbox-talk” style meetings with construction staff and distribute informationto field office personnel to reinforce their own on site meetings.
  • Coordinate with organizations insurance provider to monitor our contractual risk transfer program with subcontractors.
  • Enforce PNS safety standards of conduct for all construction personnel.
  • Assist staff on the investigation of accidents and injuries in the preparation of materials and evidence for organizations use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.

Requirements

  • MUST be able to pass security background checks at local, county, state and federal levels.
  • Associate degree from an accredited college/university or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Environmental Health, Safety and Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to work with or adapt to a wide variety of technology formats to include laptops, tablets and smart devices as it applies to the career field. Competent in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to create forms in applications such as Adobe LiveCycle is desirable.
  • Valid Department of Motor Vehicle Driver's License Multiple current OSHA certifications in the safety field CPR and First Aid
  • Ability to install and operate general office equipment including: telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, printers, typewriters, postage machines, etc.
  • Travel by airplane, automobile, etc., may be required on a regular, as needed basis, in the sole discretion of the Company, on behalf of itself and any affiliated companies, parties, etc., it may represent.
